Strength and Underwater Testing: RugOne Rugged Smartphones Presented in Kyiv

On 15 January, Kyiv hosted Ukraine’s first presentation of the RugOne brand, which operates in the rugged mobile device segment — a category that in recent years has evolved from a niche solution for enthusiasts into a full-fledged tool for professional use. Two flagship models from the lineup, the Xever 7 and Xever 7 Pro, were introduced to the Ukrainian market.

The presentation was held in a hands-on demonstration format. In the presence of guests and technology influencers, RugOne smartphones underwent public testing, including impact resistance, water resistance, and underwater performance. This format highlighted the brand’s core concept: durability and functionality proven through real-world use.

Robotics Distribution, one of Ukraine’s top 10 IT distributors and part of the DroneUA group of companies, is the exclusive distributor of RugOne in Ukraine. The brand made its official international debut in autumn 2025 at the IFA technology exhibition in Berlin, presenting two rugged smartphones — the Xever 7 and Xever 7 Pro.

The event brought together technology enthusiasts and influencers, who witnessed the launch of a new direction in the rugged smartphone segment. The Xever 7 and Xever 7 Pro demonstrated their strength and durability in real-world conditions, showcasing impact resistance powerful enough to crack a walnut, along with reliable water resistance.

From an engineering perspective, RugOne smartphones belong to the class of professional rugged mobile devices. The chassis is constructed from a combination of impact-resistant polymer and metal elements, allowing it to maintain high structural rigidity without excessive weight. The devices weigh 325 g, which is a well-balanced figure for this segment and enables comfortable long-term use without compromising ergonomics. The protective glass supplied with the smartphone features a high level of scratch resistance and is designed for intensive use.

The devices are certified to IP68 and IP69K standards and also comply with the MIL-STD-810H military specification. This confirms resistance not only to immersion in water up to 2 metres for 30 minutes, but also to vibration, temperature fluctuations, and mechanical stress typical of industrial and field environments.

The functionality of the Xever 7 and Xever 7 Pro extends beyond typical user scenarios. The devices are equipped with cameras featuring advanced stabilisation algorithms, while the Pro version adds thermal imaging capabilities that significantly broaden practical applications — from night surveillance and technical diagnostics to search-and-rescue operations and engineering tasks.

RugOne smartphones are equipped with premium cameras with stabilisation and thermal imaging capabilities that quite literally allow users to see at night.
